FALLOUT 76 AT 20 MILLION PLAYERS: CLUES FROM TODD HOWARD ON FUTURE GAMES IN THE SERIES
The enthusiasm for Fallout 76 fueled by the success of the TV Series allows Bethesda’s multiplayer RPG to surpass the important milestone of 20 million players .
The incredible result achieved by the Bethesda studios pushes the social team of the ZeniMax and Microsoft subsidiary to put together a thank you clip for all the developers who contributed to shaping Fallout 76 and, obviously, for the enthusiasts who explored the Wasteland of Appalachia from October 2018 to the present.
For the occasion, Todd Howard had a chat with Variety journalists to discuss the great success of Fallout and the upcoming video games of the post-apocalyptic saga. In a specific passage of the interview, the Game Director of Bethesda Game Studios explains that “it seems like 15 years have passed since the first time I started talking to Jonathan Nolan about the Fallout TV series, yet ‘only’ 5 years have passed. Even development of the Fallout games takes more or less 5 years. So yes, we have some big plans for future games in this series , and although there is nothing I can add about it at the moment it is important to point out that we are always here planning the future of Fallout” .
Todd Howard’s reference in the plural to ‘future video games in the Fallout series’ seems to confirm, albeit unofficially, the parallel development of multiple projects . Taking for granted the work carried out by Bethesda Game Studios on Fallout 5, the community’s hope is therefore to witness the announcement of the increasingly rumored Fallout New Vegas 2 and Fallout 3 Remastered sooner or later . Todd Howard himself, on the other hand, a few weeks ago threw clues about the development of at least two video games linked to the Fallout IP .
