Was the Avowed release date revealed by Obsidian Entertainment by mistake?
Obsidian Entertainment apparently accidentally revealed the release date for Avowed, which for some reason wasn’t made official during the Xbox Games Showcase.
Apparently Obsidian Entertainment accidentally revealed the release date of Avowed , which according to the words of game director Carrie Patel will make its debut on PC and Xbox Series
However, the information was quickly deleted from the post published on the studio’s official website and there was no mention of it during the Xbox Games Showcase, when Avowed was presented again, this time with a story trailer.
“The last few months at Obsidian Entertainment have been hectic and exciting,” Carrie Patel wrote in the original version of the text. “Since we saw you at the Xbox Developer Direct last January, we’ve been busy with Avowed getting it ready for release on November 12, 2024. ”
“Today we’re excited to reveal our first-ever story trailer at Xbox Games Showcase 2024 and to talk to you about what we’ve shared.”
Are there still no certainties?
As mentioned, Avowed was shown yesterday with a story trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase , but this sudden change of mind regarding the announcement of the release date could mean that there are still no certainties in this sense.

Obsidian and/or Microsoft probably thought it was wiser not to reveal this information yet , waiting to have absolute certainty that the game will actually be ready to launch in November.
