Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt commented for the first time on Sony’s announcement about the decision to cancel profile linking.
The CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios , Johan Pilestedt, commented on Sony’s announcement regarding its intention to abandon the linking of Helldivers 2 profiles after the fierce controversy that this strategy had aroused.
“First of all, I have to say that I was impressed by the willpower shown by the Helldivers 2 community and your ability to collaborate,” Pilestedt wrote in a post published on Twitter.
“Secondly, I want to thank our partners and friends at PlayStation for making the decision so quickly and effectively to leave linking between Steam and PSN profiles optional .”
“Together we want to set new standards for what a live service should look like and how developers and communities can support each other to create the best gaming experiences possible.”

Has the trend already been reversed?
As you may remember, Helldivers 2 reached 215,000 negative reviews on Steam coinciding with the stop on sales of the game in 177 countries where it is not possible to create a PSN account, but after Sony’s announcement the trend seems to have already been reversed .
In fact, there are over 20,000 positive reviews for Helldivers 2 now that the PSN account is no longer mandatory , and Arrowhead Game Studios could even create a cape with the review bombing graph for the game’s characters.
Clearly we will need to understand how things will proceed from now on, whether Sony’s strategies for PlayStation titles on PC will change and what surprises post-launch support for Helldivers 2 will have in store for us.
