In Community Update 27 via Steam, the developers provided further details. The developers reiterated plans for fixes, crossplay, and in-game photo mode. However, they also teased some “extravagant anniversary stuff.”
For patch 7, the developers have confirmed that PC players will be the first to be able to use and install the mods. They will later be available for “Mac gamers and PlayStation and Xbox consoles.” Today’s post does not confirm exact publication dates.
However , fans playing Baldur’s Gate 3 on console will only be able to browse existing mods – they won’t be able to create their own. The developers have confirmed that “official modding tools will not be available for console players.”
Today’s post also explains that the toolkit will include “a subset of our internal development tools.” This will allow players to modify mods, upload them to mod.io servers , access supported asset types, and more. The developers explained that players will be able to “edit graphical assets, animations, sounds, statistics and more” in Baldur’s Gate 3
Finally, we remind you that Larian Studios Warsaw is the new team behind the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3 .
