The Association of Importers of the Russian Federation proposed creating a register of video games

The Russian Association of Distributors and Importers of Video Games (“R.A.D.I. Video Games”; unites the main suppliers and sellers of video games in Russia, including DNS, diHouse, “Buka”, EMSI, “Achivka”, etc.) proposed creating game registry

Kommersant reported this . The government was proposed to create a register in which it is planned to include all distributors, as well as the game titles themselves, “approved primarily in terms of content.”

President of R.A.D.I. Video Games and CEO of the importing company Achivka, Yasha Haddaji, in an interview with reporters, confirmed that the government had approached the association with a request to formulate proposals on the possibility of expanding the organization’s current base by adding digital editions of video games to it .

The association “R.A.D.I. Video Games” has started working in Russia – it will deal with legal imports and age restrictions

Kommersant’s interlocutors say that the proposed register will eliminate gray importers who do not pay customs duties and VAT. Haddaji says illegal importers and sellers save up to 30% of the cost of imported goods on duties and VAT.

Experts note that the R.A.D.I. Video Games registry will be difficult to implement, since the supply of games on physical media is controlled by Rospotrebnadzor, and on digital ones by Roskomnadzor.

First you need to decide whether parallel import of video games and hardware is bad or good. Nothing is currently imported legally into the Russian Federation – neither PC components (except Chinese ones) nor consoles. Many so-called official distributors in the current conditions are engaged in exactly the same parallel imports.
