Starfield bombarded with negative reviews on Steam for paid Creation Kit mods
Starfield receives the Creations section with the mods built through the official Creation Kit, but the fact that some of these are paid immediately sparked controversy on Steam.
The Creation Kit arrives with the big June update and Starfield ends up under the classic review bombing, with a bombardment of negative reviews detected on Steam since yesterday, due to the Creations and above all for the fact of offering paid mods .
The June update for Starfield is one of the major ones: launched with a sort of shadow drop during the Xbox Games Showcase, the update in question introduced the Creations section, i.e. the mods built using Bethesda’s official Creation tools Kit.
These can include new missions, equipment, skins, weapons and much more, expanding Starfield’s evolutions in an unlimited way from now to the next few years.
Creation Credits at the center of the controversy
The update also added new unreleased missions , but what sparked the anger of users on Steam is the fact that Creations introduces a payment system for mods.

In fact, these can be purchased through Creation Credit, an in-game currency, at various prices.
This currency can only be purchased with real money , with a conversion that sees 1000 Creation Credits purchasable for 10 dollars, and this matter has sparked the predictable uproar among PC users, also because many prices are considered too high.
As can also be seen by looking at the history of the review trend , we immediately notice a peak in negative ratings that emerged on June 9th, with an overwhelming quantity of negative reviews arriving within a few hours, evidently according to the classic review bombing method of protest.
To add further hatred there is also the fact that one of the new missions advertised among the additional contents of the June update, namely the mission The Vulture, the second of the new ones introduced with this, is in fact paid.
