Sins of a Solar Empire 2 will be released on Steam this summer
Stardock and Ironclad Games have announced that the 4X and real-time strategy strategy title Sins of a Solar Empire 2 will be released on Steam this summer, almost two years after its Early Access release on EGS.
Sins 2 marks the return of three factions from the first game – the Merchant Military Coalition, the Vasari Empire and the Marchers.
Among the innovations are planets orbiting stars in real time, which affects tactics; sub-factions with different ideologies and corresponding characteristics; intelligent construction system for queue automation; the ability to request reinforcements for fleets on the fly; improved customization of capital ships, titans and starbases; expanded diplomacy system; new small factions for interaction; improvements to real-time fleet combat and unique Imperial systems for each faction.
Sins of a Solar Empire 2 supports multiplayer for up to 10 players, with the ability to join games in progress, as well as automatic distribution of custom maps between participants. The game will face serious competition from other space strategy games this year, such as Homeworld 3 and Nebulous: Fleet Command.
