GTA 6 publisher comments on lack of news about PC version – Rockstar will make announcements in due course
The long-awaited GTA 6 is due out next year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, Rockstar has not yet announced anything about a PC version.
Now publisher Take-Two has provided further comment on the lack of news about the PC version of GTA 6, saying that Rockstar will “make more announcements in due course.”
During an interview at the TD Cowen conference, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said:
No announcement is not a permanent thing as far as I can tell, because the only thing that happens after no announcement is an announcement, I guess, or continued no announcement – I think that can happen too. It seems to me that none of these decisions are set in stone.
It sounds blurry.
Zelnick continued that Rockstar has “an approach to platforms that we’ve seen before and will make more announcements in due course.” The Take-Two chief believes the right approach for business is to “be where consumers are,” adding:
Historically, this company has reached out to consumers wherever they are, on whatever platform makes sense, over time.
While this may be disappointing news for many PC owners, Rockstar has a long history of releasing its games on consoles first, so the current lack of news is to be expected. After all, Grand Theft Auto 5 originally released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013 before only making its way to PC in 2015.
As for GTA 6’s console debut, Take-Two recently said it is “confident” of releasing the game in fall 2025. While Zelnick said delays are common in the industry and Take-Two is not immune to them, he doesn’t see that happening with GTA 6.
