XDefiant updates for Season 1 and blocks an annoying strategy used by players

XDefiant updated with the arrival of Season 1 and blocked an annoying strategy used by some players that made it more difficult to target them.

XDefiant was published in May and the first results are more than positive, with many players immediately trying the free to play shooter. Obviously this doesn’t mean that everything went right and Ubisoft, in addition to correcting technical problems, quickly began to modify some elements of the game , in response to the strategies adopted by the players.

Precisely, with a new patch the XDefiant team has made one of the favorite strategies of many players much less useful: continuing to jump while shooting .

What changed in the latest XDefiant update

Ubisoft has added a new aiming penalty for repeatedly pressing the jump and crouch button in XDefiant. This should reduce players using the exploit that made them harder to hit.

The developers also added a fix to Escort Mode to prevent players from losing their legs when pushing the pack. Of course, there are many other improvements and fixes covering everything from weapon upgrades to the game’s netcode.

For example, we find fixes for long-distance shooting , reduced movement speed when holding your breath with the character, changes to the way ping is calculated for matchmaking, and fixes for various issues, such as the inability to log in to matches or, on the contrary, the possibility of playing even if the required characteristics were not met. Then there are fixes for factions (Echelon players won’t become invisible forever, for example).

Finally, we remind you that Season 1 of XDefiant was presented with a trailer .
