WILL CALL OF DUTY 2026 BE ONE OF THE XBOX NEXT-GEN LAUNCH GAMES?
According to what was reported by the data miner The Ghost of Hope, Call of Duty 2026 should be one of the launch games of the new next-generation Xbox console, apparently coming out during the indicated year.
Xbox Next-Gen seems expected for autumn 2026 and among the launch games there will also be Call of Duty, with a game developed by Infinity Ward. It seems that development has already started some time ago with the code name Project Devilwood, the game would be a sequel to Call of Duty Ghosts released in 2013 while in 2027 it will be the turn of Project Anvil , a new game in the Advanced Warfare series developed by Sledgehammer Games .
This is the roadmap released months ago by a leaker but we don’t know if things have changed with Microsoft’s entry into the scene . What is certain is that the Redmond house seems interested in making the most of the commercial strength of COD: Call of Duty Black Ops 6 should be on Xbox Game Pass on day one and clearly what better opportunity than a new game in the series to launch a new console ?
COD accompanied the market launch of PS4 and Xbox as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and history now seems destined to repeat itself with Xbox Next-Gen .
Hearing from trusted sources that the next Xbox is planned to be released in late 2026.
Very likely that COD2026 is a day one release for it. pic.twitter.com/qJXmQSzH9F
