The developers of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II reported that the scale of the game was limited by the technical capabilities of the Xbox Series S. As a result, the new part of the game will be only 25% larger than its predecessor.
According to information from the Czech site Zing.cz , at the Game Access event, game producer Martin Klima confirmed that the technical limitations of the Xbox Series S, namely 10 GB of RAM, affected the scale of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. The weakest console of the current generation has only 25 % more RAM, so Warhorse Studios decided to increase the size of the game by only 25%.
At the same event, it was announced that the game will run in 4K resolution and 30 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, it is not specified whether this will be native 4K resolution or upscaling, most likely the latter.
On Xbox Series S, the game will run at 1440p and also at 30 frames per second. The lack of multiple display modes hints that the game will be processor-intensive, which is expected for an open-world game.
While running Kingdom Come: Deliverance II on consoles at just 30 frames per second may disappoint some players, it’s worth noting that performance should be stable. The game is already running at over 30 frames per second, which is a significant improvement over the first installment in the series, which lacked smoothness on consoles. On PC, NVIDIA DLSS technology allows you to achieve up to 80 frames per second in 4K resolution with very high graphics settings (on an AMD Ryzen 7950X3D processor and RTX 4080 Super graphics).
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will be released this year on PC, PS5, Xbox Series.
