The House of the Dead 2 Remake is still alive: the Switch version appears with the Nintendo Direct just around the corner
Is The House of the Dead 2: Remake still alive and well? A Nintendo Switch version of the game has appeared in the database of PEGI, the European video game classification body.
As reported by Gematsu, PEGI, the European video game classification body, has added a Nintendo Switch version of The House of the Dead 2: Remake to its database , a sign that perhaps the game is still alive and well and which could even be on its way to stores.
The game was announced by Forever Entertainment in 2019, together with the remake of the first chapter, which arrived in stores in 2022. The sequel, however, had completely disappeared from the radar and, considering the lukewarm reception from critics and the public for the first remake, it was reasonable to hypothesize the possible cancellation of the project.
What’s new at Nintendo Direct?
Not infrequently, classification societies unintentionally anticipate a publisher’s announcement. Furthermore, usually when a game is added to the database and gets a rating, in the case of House of the Dead 2: Remake it is PEGI 18, the debut in stores is not too far away. In this case it is reasonable to expect news from Forever Entertainment and Microids, which deals with the distribution of the titles of the series, in the next few days or weeks, perhaps as part of the announcements of the Nintendo Direct scheduled for this month .

For those who don’t know it, The House of the Dead 2 is a shooter on tracks published way back in 1998 in the form of an arcade cabinet, and then later arrived on Dreamcast and PC, while in 2008 a conversion was made for Nintendo Wii. As previously mentioned, the first chapter of the series returned in 2022 with a fairly lackluster remake for current generation platforms.
