The Final Fantasy 14 and 16 team is not working on a Final Fantasy 9 remake
There are more and more rumors about a possible remake of Final Fantasy IX . First, an updated version of the role-playing game appeared in a GeForce NOW leak, and then various insiders began to write about it.
It got to the point that information appeared that Naoki Yoshida’s team (Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI) is working on a remake of Final Fantasy IX . As a result, the producer and designer had to directly refute these “leaks”.
Yoshida stated that his team is not doing a remake of FF IX , but if such a task were assigned, they would approach the issue with the utmost care and attention.
Yoshida is not working on any remake of Final Fantasy IX . It’s a wonderful, wonderful game, and many of us are fans of the original Final Fantasy IX . But it’s a pretty tough game. I think it’s larger than Final Fantasy VII, so the scale is significantly different.
