Nvidia art director’s new project on Unreal Engine 5 is inspired by Dear Esther

Andrew Averkin, art director at NVIDIA, whose detailed digital environments have repeatedly caught our eyes, amazes us with his new 3D scene, reminiscent of a prototype simulation game for walking and exploring the world.

Someday is Andrew’s personal work, inspired by games such as What Remains of Edith Finch, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Dear Esther.

According to the author, the project allowed him to experiment with AI-generated textures, discover more efficient auto-assembly techniques, test ray tracing and scaling with a deep learning supersampling mesh, and practice story writing, sound design, blueprint creation, and more.

To create the scene, the author mainly used Substance 3D Sampler and Unreal Engine.

More of Andrew’s amazing projects can be foundĀ on his ArtStation pageĀ .
