A Manor Lords player has spent over 50 hours creating a city so huge that it tests the limits of strategy – and even the game’s creator is impressed by this achievement.
Redditor Busy-Shallot shared his achievement in a post showing the largest city we’ve seen in Manor Lords so far.
I have reached the goal of my journey. I collected 4,548 residents in one region.
The so-called “Slavic Project” was aimed at achieving “the maximum possible number of inhabitants in one region without food and fuel.” True, the victory was not achieved without casualties, as many NPCs died during winters without food and fuel.
Packing so many villagers into one save file has its consequences. Instead of the unemployment and lack of space that usually accompanies overcrowded areas, this city simply made the game “unplayable” and “pathfinding virtually non-existent.”
As the gamer says, perhaps the record can be broken, but this requires a more powerful PC. Now booting from the SSD takes as much as 20 minutes. Meanwhile, the developer noted that he was amazed by the achievement and promised to “continue to work on optimizations” so that players can test the boundaries of what is possible in the medieval city-building simulator.
