LEGO Horizon Adventures will not be exclusive to PS5 and PC: Guerrilla Games explains why

LEGO Horizon Adventures is not exclusive to PC and PS5, as is typical for Sony, but will also be released on Nintendo Switch. Guerrilla Games now explains the reason behind this choice.

LEGO Horizon Adventures was presented at the Summer Game Fest Showcase. The surprise wasn’t the game in and of itself, but rather the fact that it will arrive not only on PS5 and PC, but also on Nintendo Switch (no Xbox, however). While it’s not the first time for a Sony game (MLB The Show is multiplatform, for example) it’s still a curious choice given that PlayStation isn’t pushing to release its games on rival consoles.

The question therefore is: why will LEGO Horizon Adventures also arrive on Nintendo Switch?

Guerrilla Games explains why LEGO Horizon Adventures will also arrive on Nintendo Switch

James Windeler , Narrative Director at Guerrilla Games, said: “When we approached this game, we wanted to make sure it was for everyone. This philosophy guided every creative decision, and bringing [LEGO Horizon Adventures] to Nintendo Switch is part of this philosophy.”

“We’re trying to bring as wide an audience as possible to this game and the franchise. And the Switch has a family-friendly audience, and it’s a really good place to expand.”

Windeler also talks about how he personally can’t wait to experience the game with friends and family across various platforms. “With this game I can play on the couch with my wife, I can play with my hardcore Horizon friends on the other side of the world [online], and now I can even play with my granddaughters, who are 11 and 8. In many of the games I’ve worked on I haven’t had the opportunity to play with them, because our games are aimed at an older audience. I’m really excited to see how they relate to the humor, the protagonist Aloy and everything else.”
