In the notice, Apple provided additional information about the incident.

This attack is likely targeting you specifically because of who you are or what you do. While it is impossible to be absolutely certain that such attacks will be detected, Apple appreciates the credibility of this warning—please take it seriously.

Apple explained that it could not provide information about the reasons for the message.For fear of helping attackers avoid detection in the future. The Company uses internal information and investigations to identify such attacks.

This isn’t the first time Apple has had to send out notifications like this. Users in more than 150 countries have received similar messages since 2021. Including a warning to journalists and politicians in India last October. However, this time it is unclear which countries the messages were sent to.
