Insider: Bungie is preparing a Destiny threequel codenamed Payback ,Western resources drew attention to insider 32638272187, who at the end of February spoke about the appearance of a new subclass called “Prism” in The Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2.

At a broadcast on April 9, Bungie officially confirmed the existence of a new subclass – when using it, players will be able to combine the elements of Lightning, Sun, Void, Stasis and Thread.

The same insider said at the end of February that Bungie was working on the third part of Destiny, codenamed Payback. True, he noted that production could have been stopped and the developments transferred to Destiny 2.

Insider: Bungie is preparing a Destiny threequel codenamed Payback User 32638272187 wrote that the key feature of Destiny 3 should have been the abandonment of the class system. The insider wrote that players could invest skill points into different abilities and combine them.

The insider also commented on the code name Payback.

Codename Payback doesn’t mean we’ll lose in Final Shape or after Episode 3 (although, to be fair, I don’t know any more about those episodes than any of you). The internal codename D3 is not a reference to any story events. Rather, Payback means that Bungie is preparing a game that everyone will enjoy.

I don’t know if there are plans to carry over items from Destiny 2 to Destiny 3.

The Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2 releases on June 4th.
