Honkai: Star Rail updates to version 2.3 release date new modes and 300 free Stellar Jade
Honkai: Star Rail will update to version 2.3 in a few days, introducing new characters, permanent modes, limited-time events, main missions and more.
Today Hoyoverse unveiled version 2.3 of Honkai: Star Rail , releasing this month on all platforms. Let’s take an overview of the new features revealed, from the release date of the update, moving on to the new characters and banners up to the inevitable promotional codes with 300 Stellar Jade free for everyone.
Version 2.3 of Honkai: Star Rail is titled “Farewell, Penacony” and will be available starting June 19 . Like every update, new main missions will be available, which in this case will represent a sort of epilogue to the Penacony narrative arc, and secondary missions dedicated to various characters, as well as new explorable areas. Not only that, the update will introduce two new Relic sets and two Ornament sets.
The new banners and events
New update, new playable characters, in this case Firefly and Jade. In the first phase of version 2.3 of Honkai: Star Rail, the banners of Firefly and Ruan Mei will be available, with Gallagher, Misha and Xueyi as the most likely 4-star units to obtain. In the second phase it will be the turn of the Jade and Argenti banners, with Serval, Natasha and Asta.

Firefly is a 5-star character of the Fire element and the Destruction path whose abilities vary depending on which of the two combat forms he takes. In that base his Skill reduces the character’s HP in exchange for a powerful attack that deals damage to a single target, while recovering a large amount of Energy for Ultimate. By activating it, the character enters the “Complete Combustion” state for a limited period, obtaining enhanced basic attacks and Skills, which can also make targets weak to the fire element, as well as a bonus to speed and Break Efficiency.
Jade is also a 5 star character, but in this case with the Quantum element and the Erudition path, specialized in hitting multiple enemies at a time. Her Skill buffs an ally on the field, who gets a speed boost (excluding Jade) and bonus damage based on Jade’s attack stat. The hits landed by the enhanced ally charge the character’s Talent charge counter, which once reached the maximum performs a follow-up against all opponents. Her Ultimate deals damage to all enemies on the field and boosts Jade’s follow-up attacks.
As for limited-time events , “Origami Bird Slash” will offer Candy Crush-style minigames in exchange for Stellar Jade and Self-Modeling Resin; in “Stellar Shimmer” we will face a series of combat challenges with special rules. Other classic events will also return, to be precise the “Gift of Odyssey”, with 10 Star Rail Special Passes by logging in for seven days; the “Planar Fissure” with double rewards for the Simulated Universe; “Realm of the Strange” with double rewards for the Caverns of Corrosion.
New modes for Simulated Universe and Endgame
Among the most interesting new features is a new Simulted Universe mode, Divergent Universe . In this high-level challenge it will be possible to use any character in your possession, without worrying about the level (which will be set at 80 for everyone), Traces and build, as sets of temporary Relics and Light Cones will be offered. For the rest it will be possible to strengthen the team with various “Blessings” as you advance through the levels, necessary to face the final boss.
There will also be a new permanent endgame game mode, “Apocalyptic Shadow” . At each reset, players will face two bosses in challenges of increasing level, with special rules, which ask them to tactically exploit the strengths of their characters. The first time players complete the second difficulty level they will receive the 4-star character Xueyi, 300 Stellar Jade and a Self-Modeling Resin for free. Apocalyptic Shadow will be available in rotation, alternating with the other two endgame modes of Star Rail, namely Pure Fiction and Memory of Chaos. At the same time, the Stellar Jade rewards for each endgame mode will increase from 720 to 800 per phase.
