HELLDIVERS 2 WHAT’S HAPPENING? IT HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM SALE IN OTHER COUNTRIES

We thought the Helldivers 2 case was closed, but apparently that’s not the case. Although Sony has backtracked on the mandatory PSN account , the cooperative shooter has not yet gone back on sale in countries where the PlayStation Network is not available and has received further restrictions.

After announcing the requirement for a PlayStation account for the Steam version of the game (which in the initial plans should have started on May 6th for new buyers and June 4th for those who already owned it), Sony became the protagonist of a rather clumsy move by blocking the sale of Helldivers 2 in 177 countries where it is not possible to register a PSN account. The community immediately rose up and after a few days of meditation Sony backtracked, removing the obligation and making PSN membership optional for all PC players.

All resolved, then? Unfortunately not, because Helldivers 2 has not yet gone back on sale in those 177 countries , which include Kazakhstan, the Philippines and most of the African states. As if that wasn’t enough, in recent hours the sale of Helldivers 2 for PC has also been blocked in the Baltic countries , namely Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. What is happening apparently makes little sense to the community, which was expecting the game to return to the countries where it disappeared and instead is seeing further sales restrictions introduced.

Restrictions which, SteamDB says, are also foreseen for the upcoming PC version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut , for which the PSN account is mandatory only for the Legends multiplayer mode and for unlocking trophies. Sony and Sucker Punch have already specified that players interested in the single player will not be required to register on the PSN, yet for the moment the sale is not planned in all those countries where the Sony network does not exist.
