After Sony announced it would continue with its original plans to require players of the popular co-op shooter on Steam to be linked to a PSN account, angry helldivers responded with an uprising.

If the requirement were met, players from 177 countries would not be able to play as there is no option to create a PSN account. But after a barrage of more than 200 thousand negative reviews, Sony backed down. However, these reviews left a negative mark on the game’s evaluation.

Helldivers 2 will not require a PSN connection – Sony has abandoned the decision

Following the announcement that the PSN requirement would not be enforced, the score rose to “Mostly Positive” among recent reviews, and “Overwhelmingly Negative” reviews rose to “Mixed.” This is due to a community initiative called Operation Cleanup, which has seen over 70,000 players change their reviews to positive.
