Bethesda showed a space buggy for Starfield

Good news for Starfield players who’ve been wanting a faster, more convenient way to travel around the game’s planets: Bethesda is planning to add a controllable buggy to the space RPG.

Bethesda has announced its next major update for Starfield. This new patch, which is already available on PC as a Steam beta, adds a lot of features that players have wanted since launch, including a 60 FPS option on Xbox and improved maps. However, while the update is big and looks really good, it doesn’t add any ground vehicles to the RPG – something fans have been asking for since before the game’s release. But Bethesda hinted in the video that you’ll be able to drive buggies on various Starfield planets in the future.

The Starfield update highlights video includes a couple of shots of the still-in-development buggy-like vehicle traveling around a desert planet.

And that’s all for now. No other specific details have been revealed about this buggy. We don’t know when it will be added, how it will work, or whether players will be able to upgrade or modify it. However, this will definitely make the process of traveling around the planets more comfortable. Still, it’s pretty absurd that a character flies around hundreds of planets and moons while having to run around on foot.
True, last year Todd Howard explained that the presence of vehicles would greatly change the gameplay that was originally intended for the game.

It looks like Bethesda and Howard have changed their minds and realized that, yes, walking on every planet or using a slow jetpack is rather tedious and deprives players of choice. Let’s hope that Starfield will not be limited to one buggy.
