We are approaching the height of summer, the good weather has arrived and we are at the weekend, but despite this we are faced with the fateful question of all time: what will you play this weekend?
Although old conventions insist on placing the start of summer next week, with the end of school we can say that the season has officially started from this one: so, what will you play this weekend?
There’s no point in denying it, even if we may have finished school years (or decades) ago, you can sense a change in the atmosphere, these days, for everyone. Schoolchildren are obviously on the front line: the period of absolute freedom has begun, so whether it’s a weekend or not makes practically no difference, but the weekends in June still have a magic of their own.
Not that this changes the cards on the table much as far as we’re concerned, because we have pressing commitments to complete anyway, and they’re called video games. It’s hard work, but someone has to do it: but what to focus on this weekend?
Alan Wake 2: Night Springs
The first candidate that comes to mind is definitely Alan Wake 2: Night Springs .
Remedy’s excellent survival horror surprisingly received its first substantial expansion at the end of last week, during the Summer Game Fest, and it is still one of the freshest and most important titles these days.
It is likely that many are still immersed in the atmosphere of the Alan Wake pseudo-TV series even these days, struggling with the three episodes to be completed.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance
The other game of great importance, this one released in recent days, is Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance , or the reworked and expanded version of the fifth chapter of the series, previously released on Nintendo Switch and now multi-platform.
It is one of the most important Japanese RPGs of recent years and an absolute must for fans.
Those who didn’t have a Nintendo Switch, or even those who played the original and want to enjoy this new refined and substantially expanded experience, can easily throw themselves into this title, which you can learn more about in our review of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance .
Kingdom Hearts on Steam and Monster Hunter Stories
Among other news, this week did not bring many releases, but among these we find Monster Hunter Stories HD, remastered version of the spin-off of the Capcom series, and another very important addition represented by Kingdom Hearts on Steam , which will probably attract a large amount of PC users on the Square Enix franchise.
Otherwise, obviously, there is the omnipresent and pervasive backlog that always watches over us, capable of always providing a valid alternative to how to spend time too productively.
