After denying the presence of Cillian Murphy in Far Cry 7 , the self-styled Ubisoft insider known on social media as ‘J0nathan’ claims that the French gaming giant has decided to permanently shelve the Watch Dogs series.
“Watch Dogs is to be considered dead and buried” , comments the self-styled ‘deep throat’ on social media before revealing what, in his opinion, would be the reason given by the leaders of the transalpine publisher and developer in considering the interactive experience offered to be over from this free roaming series.
According to what J0nathan claimed, the upper echelons of Ubisoft decided to shelve the IP due to the commercial failure of Watch Dogs Legion , which arrived in the second half of 2020 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and then saw the light at the end year as the launch title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series “truly original” , without however providing further details on the most decisive aspects of the game system and the multiplayer features provided by this mysterious now shelved title.
