The Witcher 4 has a huge team behind it: the financial director says when production will begin
CD Projekt RED has confirmed that The Witcher 4 has a huge team behind it and that production on the game will begin soon. For the moment, however, there is no information on the release.
CD Projekt said that Polaris, the next game in the new Witcher trilogy – which for simplicity we call The Witcher 4 although there is no official name – is now the studio’s largest project, both in terms of the number of people working on it , and for the level of progress of the project.
“ Over 400 people are currently working on the game,” Chief Financial Officer Piotr Nielubocwicy said in a financial presentation, “and we expect to move into the production phase in the second half of the year.”
How CD Projekt developers are divided
There’s also a handy chart illustrating the breakdown: This isn’t a big change in numbers from the previous report and for now the game remains in pre-production , but even so CD Projekt RED’s workforce remains deeply focused on The Witcher 4.

The current numbers also match a statement made by co-CEO Adam Badowski in January. The executive had in fact stated that CD Projekt “would like to have around 400 people working on [Polaris] by the middle of the year”.
As we can see, this number has been reached since February, so it is possible that CD Projket RED is ahead of its development time. Can we take this as a positive sign for the action RPG?
Unfortunately we don’t have any kind of information on a possible release date for The Witcher 4 (or whatever its name will be, as we were saying), but CD Projekt RED has said that it wants to release big games more frequently .
