The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom announced with release date and Zelda as protagonist
In the context of the Nintendo Direct in June, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom was announced, a new chapter in the series with Zelda as the protagonist and due out in a few months.
One of the surprises of the Nintendo Direct in June 2024 was undoubtedly The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Widsdom , a new chapter in the series starring Princess Zelda , who will have to use her wits and a magical staff that allows her to replicate objects to save Hyrule from a catastrophe.
The game was presented with a trailer, which you can find in the player below. For the occasion, the release date on Nintendo Switch was also announced, set for 26 September 2024 . A new Hyrule special edition model of the Nintendo Switch Lite will be available on the same day.
A different The Legend of Zelda than usual
As we can see in the trailer below, in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom the kingdom of Hyrule is threatened by strange rifts that suck in everything they encounter, even poor Link. This time it will therefore be Zelda who will take on the role of protagonist and take charge of the fate of the world.
This gave Eiji Aonuma’s team the opportunity to invent a completely new gameplay. Zelda does not fight with a sword, shield and bow, but rather will be able to exploit the power of a magical staff that allows her to replicate objects , such as tables, beds, rocks and even enemies, which can be deployed on the field to have a hand in battle or overcome environmental puzzles.
This gives life to an incredibly vast range of actions and solutions, so much so that Aonuma himself states that he did not count all the objects that Zelda is able to replicate with magic and that the game was made in such a way that the adventure is different for each player.
