The founders of Supermassive Games left the studio

Brothers Pete and Joe Samuels, who founded Supermassive Games in 2008, have announced their retirement. According to Pete, this decision was difficult for him and was due to his health:

After more than 15 years as CEO of Supermassive Games, I have made the very difficult decision to step back from my role and leave the business.

My decision was entirely due to health reasons and was not taken lightly. I am and will always be proud of the studio that Joe Samuels and I founded years ago, and I admire the team at Supermassive and the amazing things they have accomplished. I look forward to their future projects under the guidance of a talented new leadership team led by Robert Henrisson, who will guide Supermassive through the next stage of its incredible journey.

I may be handing over the reins, but I will always be rooting for them from the sidelines.

The reasons for Joe Samuels’ departure were not reported, but most likely it was a mutual decision between the brothers.
