Starfield Is Bombarded With Negative Reviews On Steam: Todd Howard Addresses Paid Mod Problem

Starfield is a well-loved and played game, but that doesn’t mean fans accept every single change or new thing without thinking. As we had already reported to you, in fact, players responded forcefully to the arrival of paid mods in the RPG, publishing negative reviews on Steam.
The sum of the most recent reviews on Steam , in fact, reports a “Mostly negative” rating with over 2,400 total votes. The total rating is also only “Average” with 60% positive responses out of over 100,000 reviews.
Todd Howard’s response to criticism from Starfield fans
In an interview, Todd Howard responded directly to the criticism and confirmed his intention to analyze Bethesda’s pricing for Creations content, which obviously doesn’t mean we should expect changes.

“We hear this feedback too,” Howard said. “First of all I will say that we price things based on what we’ve done before, both in Creation Club and in Fallout 76, and we always try to look at what’s out there, to make sure we’re providing value to everyone and, if we don’t do it, we will certainly adapt.”
“The only thing I want to say about the Trackers Alliance is that it was an attempt to do something in the Creation Club, like, ‘You’ll get a special outfit and a special weapon,’ we wanted to put them together and then we thought we’d do one step further and let’s insert them into a mission”.
“But now we’ve seen the feedback, right? And we don’t want the impression to be ‘oh no, this feels like a faction that we’re tearing apart and then selling for 700 credits at a time.’ So I think we’ll take a look at this look and how we deliver content like this, and whether to change the pricing or split it or what we should do. So, great feedback from the community.”
Howard insisted, however, that Bethesda’s policy on paid mods has the health of the modding community at heart .
“In terms of, in particular, the creators out there, our view is that many of them have gone from hobbyists to professionals . And it’s part of our job to make sure that they can do that and that they get paid and that they see the monetary rewards if they create great content,” Howard said.
In the same interview Howard also talked about The Elder Scrolls 6 .
