Sly Raccoon on PS4 with PS Plus Premium has a problem: it runs too fast!
The PS4 version of Sly Raccoon, introduced via PS Plus Premium, appears to have a problem according to a speedrunner: the game runs too fast and this causes problems.
Sly Raccoon (known as Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus in the USA) for PS2 is a much loved classic game, which fans can also experience on modern consoles thanks to the PS Plus Premium subscription for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. However, there seems to be a performance problem with the version for the old Sony console.
In this case the problem is not that the game loses frames, but on the contrary that it runs ” too fast “; precisely around 10% according to Bvr_GG, speedrunner of the saga who has great experience with the video game. On PS5 there is no this problem, he also states.
Sly Raccoon is too fast
As you can see in the tweet below, Bvr states: “The PS4 version of Sly Cooper 1 runs almost 10% faster than it should, resulting in a very different and negative feel. This issue is not present in the PS5 version. This video shows the Mz Ruby boss fight where the music is wildly out of sync due to this issue. Please spread the word and fix this.”

Clearly a problem of this type is accentuated in the rhythmic phases such as that of the video, while in other sections less experienced players may not particularly notice it. In this case the speaker is a speedrunner who has great experience with Sly Raccoon and immediately notices a difference of this type.
However, we will have to see if Sony will confirm and if so will correct the problem of the game in the PS4 version.
