SEA OF THIEVES ON PS5 IS A SUCCESS: MICROSOFT HAPPY WITH THE RECEPTION RECEIVED
Although many players interrupted their experience with the Rare title, Sea of Thieves made a splash on PS5 and the version for the current generation Sony console proved to be a success. And obviously Microsoft itself has expressed its enthusiasm for the results achieved so far.
In an interview with Variety, the president of Microsoft Gaming content and studios Matt Booty said he was ” really satisfied ” with the sales achieved by Sea of Thieves on PlayStation 5 , a thought also shared for the other Microsoft productions landed on platforms in recent months PlayStation such as Hi-Fi Rush , Grounded and Pentiment . Booty didn’t go into more detail about the commercial results of the individual games, but hinted that Microsoft is happy with how its multiplatform strategy is currently going.
However, this does not mean that all Xbox Game Studios games will also arrive on other consoles: Booty reiterates that Microsoft ” decides on a case-by-case basis ” which games to distribute multiplatform and which ones to keep exclusively, even if this does not however prohibit the possible future arrival of big titles from the Verdecrociata team on PlayStation or Nintendo systems.
Sea of Thieves on PS5 was the best-selling game of April 2024 in Europe , so even more so the Redmond giant will continue with the multiplatform strategy for the future.
