According to what was reported by a well-known scooper, Ryan Gosling will be Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe : the actor should have already signed with Disney and an official announcement could arrive during D23, which will take place in August.

Gosling had long ago expressed his desire to take on the role of Marvel’s Spirit of Vengeance , in this case picking up the baton from Nicolas Cage, who brought the character to the big screen on two occasions.

For the moment there are no further details regarding the agreement, nor indications on when and how we will see Ghost Rider again at the cinema, but Gosling’s name and his current popularity could certainly constitute an excellent starting point for the project .

The spirit of revenge

Recently appearing in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Ghost Rider was created in 1972 by Roy Thomas, Gary Friedrich and Mike Ploog. He is a character who undoubtedly belongs to the category of antiheroes , given that he is in all respects a vengeful spirit.

He is in fact an unscrupulous warrior determined to impart his own justice, equipped with incredible powers and a motorbike with fiery wheels that he uses to move at high speed as soon as he is invoked by his human alter ego, Johnny Blaze.

Despite always being a not particularly popular character in the wide roster of Marvel heroes, Ghost Rider undoubtedly has enormous potential in the cinematographic field but the two films with Nicolas Cage were probably not able to fully exploit it.
