Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7: physical copies for PS5 spotted at a retailer, announcement soon?

As suggested by an online retailer, Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 could soon return to stores via new physical editions for PS5.

Capcom could launch physical copies of Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remake in stores in the coming months for PS5 . This is suggested by the online store which in the last few hours has added, and then removed, these versions to the price list, complete with price and a release date set for July 31st , probably a placeholder.

All three of the above games received an upgrade for PS5 (as well as Xbox Series X|S) in 2022 , which owners of a PS4 copy can download absolutely free. For this reason, physical copies specifically for PS5 are not strictly necessary, but could still appeal to those who have not yet purchased one or more of the aforementioned games and collectors.

The details emerged from the Romanian retailer
As mentioned at the beginning, the pages dedicated to the three games have been removed from the Romanian store, but not quickly enough to go unnoticed by some users, who promptly took screenshots, like the ones you find above.

From the images we can see that the games are priced at 139.99 Leu each, which corresponds to around 28 euros , an all in all plausible price for games that are now several years old and which can be purchased in the “old-gen” version even at lower prices.

In the same shots there are also boxarts , but we point out that they do not represent irrefutable proof of the existence of these physical copies, given that a mild “cut and sew” job is enough to replace the PS5 logo on the covers of the old-gen versions to PS4. In short, all that remains is to wait for official communications from Capcom.
