Is Final Fantasy 9 Remake in development under Naoki Yoshida? The director opens up and tells the truth

Final Fantasy 9 Remake was never announced but everyone takes it for granted. Now, Naoki Yoshida is opening up and telling the truth about his involvement with Square Enix’s role-playing game.

In recent times, more and more rumors have been circulating linked to the fact that Naoki Yoshida, director of Final Fantasy 14, is working on the never announced but much talked about remake of Final Fantasy 9 . In March, for example, some additional content themed with the old JRPG arrived for the MMORPG.

Yoshida stated that the reason behind this collaboration was a secret. Furthermore, the team would be working on two other new games and for some one of these would be Final Fantasy 9 remake directed by Yoshida. Now the developer wanted to set the record straight.

Yoshida’s words on Final Fantasy 9 Remake

In a video from Final Fantasy 14’s “Letter from the Producer” series, Yoshida clearly denied being connected in any way to this project and also claimed to know nothing about it. It should be noted that this statement does not imply that the remake of Final Fantasy 9 exists or does not exist, but that he is simply not involved in any way and that he has nothing to say.

Furthermore, the director also responded to some players who had expressed doubts about seeing Yoshida in charge of the remake of Final Fantasy 9, as they feared that he would have made it a real-time action game . However, the man replied that if it were up to him to work on it, he would keep it like the original, i.e. a turn-based role-playing game.

However, since he is not the one working on it, we cannot know what this potential game will be like. We repeat that the remake of Final Fantasy 9 has never been announced and the fact that it is talked about with such conviction is linked to the fact that it emerged years ago in a leak of information from the Epic Games Store which indicates many games coming out then turned out to be real.

Finally, we would like to point out thatĀ a group of Final Fantasy 14 players have called a strike because a class has been rendered uselessĀ .
