Many users are unfamiliar when it comes to digital content and it is not uncommon for players to avoid uninstalling a game from their PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro for the simple fear of losing it forever. But is it really like this or is it an unmotivated fear?
As you may have already guessed, there is really nothing to fear . If you have a game installed in the internal memory of your PlayStation 4 (we are talking about any model, be it Standard, Slim or Pro) you can uninstall it without any consequences. Any games you have purchased remain associated with the profile with which the transaction was made and the license continues to be linked to the PlayStation Network account. This means that at any time you can go to the collection screen or the product page on the PlayStation Store to start downloading your game again.
The same goes for games in physical format , since it will be enough to insert the disc into the console again to complete the installation process (and download any updates) to go back to playing.
It should be noted that there are some very rare exceptions where products are removed not only from sale, but also from the PlayStation Store, preventing players from downloading them again. However, this is an event that has occurred very few times, as in the case of the Silent Hills demo by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro , i.e. PT (Playable Teaser). The same goes for those free to play games which, due to lack of success, fail and are definitively removed from the catalog of the various online stores.
