HI-FI RUSH, BUT WASN’T IT A SUCCESS FOR XBOX? CONCERNS ABOUT THE CLOSURE OF TANGO GAMEWORKS

According to what Microsoft reported in the past, Hi-Fi Rush proved to be a success for Xbox , and it seemed that the Redmond giant wanted to further focus on the team originally founded by Shinji Mikami.

Yet, as we have known for a few hours, Microsoft has closed Tango Gameworks together with other Bethesda studios . Many fans are perplexed about this, and wonder why this drastic decision was made despite the company having praised the commercial success of the game .

“Another terrible day for Xbox employees and the gaming industry ,” The Verge’s Tom Warren said on X|Twitter. ” Hi-Fi Rush ‘ was a huge hit ‘ for Microsoft last year in ‘all key metrics and expectations,’ but the studio behind the game was shut down today along with others. I’m sorry to everyone affected.” , he then added, recalling the Tango Gameworks title.

Before the statements of Aaron Greenberg of Microsoft, which had effectively certified the success of Hi-Fi Rush, rumors had emerged online that suggested a performance of the stock below the US company’s expectations . The rumor in question, spread by Jeff Grubb, has in fact been denied by Xbox, but today it arises spontaneously to ask ourselves why the studio was closed.

It’s hard to say where the truth is; what we know for sure is that Tango Gameworks will not have the future that its developers began to see on the horizon.
