HELLDIVERS 2: THE FIRST PATCH ARRIVES ON PS5: ARROWHEAD DEFENDS THE ANTI-CHEAT ON STEAM

After having had the satisfaction of having taken away Palworld’s record as the most played title on Steam with Helldivers 2 , Arrowhead studios launch the first patch of the space shooter on PS5 and defend their choice to adopt GameGuard as an anti-cheat system on PC.

The first post-launch update that brings Helldivers 2 to version 1,000,004 on current generation Sony platforms integrates a whole series of improvements for matchmaking features and resolves crashes reported by first-time users who decided to virtually pick up the rifle to defend Super Earth from the Terminids and their space allies.

Once the rollout of the patch on PS5 began, the guys from Arrowhead studios then dealt with the criticisms leveled by those who, on PC, argue about the “intrusiveness” of DRM technologies implemented through the GameGuard anti-cheat system .

The Swedish software house explains that the GameGuard system does not collect any personal information, does not impact performance (at least according to what emerged from the tests conducted) and is completely removed from the PC once the game uninstallation procedure has started. For the occasion, Arrowhead recalls that Helldivers 2 requires an anti-cheat system on PC with DRM technologies that act at Kernel level due to the strong propensity for cooperative gameplay of the gaming experience offered in every mode and challenge proposed by the title.

While waiting for our in-depth analysis on Sony’s sci-fi shooter, did you know that Helldivers 2 is the first Sony game to exceed 100 thousand users connected simultaneously on Steam ?
