Surprisingly, Sky Sports has created an inspired promotional spot for the Miami Grand Prix of F1
The Grand Theft Auto series has such a great media resonance that it is recognized even outside the videogame medium. This was also demonstrated by Sky Sports , which created a promotional film of last weekend ‘s Miami F1 Grand Prix based on the first official trailer of the highly anticipated GTA 6 .
The inspiration is evident right from the start, as soon as the notes of Tom Petty’s ” Love is a Long Road ” start playing and the screen shows overhead shots of sunny Miami, followed by a mix of racing and trackside sequences.
Even at minute 00:30 of the video below, we can see a sequence where the GTA Vice City user interface has been applied . At the end of the video there is a “mosaic” photo collage similar to the covers of the games in the Rockstar Games series.

A double meaning homage
In short, a truly successful and enjoyable editing job that will certainly be appreciated by all fans of the Grand Theft Auto series. Any case, the homage was not one-way. In fact, the last weekly event of GTA Online proposed a sort of parody of F1 with open wheel races, complete with a bonus racing suit for those who took part.
In the meantime, between fake leaks starring Beyonce and pessimistic forecasts that see the game postponed to 2026 , fans are waiting for new details on GTA 6 from Rockstar Games, in view of the debut on PS5 and Xbox Series year.
