Goodbye Tango Gameworks: Hi-Fi Rush studio closes its doors today as employee photos confirm

Today Tango Gameworks, the team behind Hi-Fi Rush, is definitively closing its doors. It is, or rather was, one of the four Bethesda studios that Microsoft ordered closed in May

Today is the last day of activity of Tango Gameworks , which starting tomorrow will effectively no longer exist. This is confirmed by some shots published on X by VFX artist Takeo Kido, which testify to the last hours of life of the studio responsible for Hi-Fi Rush.

As you probably already know, last month Microsoft ordered the closure of four studios under the wing of Bethesda, including Arkane Austin, authors of Prey and Redfall, and Tango Gameworks, the team founded by Shinji Mikami and author of the aforementioned Hi -Fi Rush and the survival horror series The Evil Within.

One of Kido’s shots is accompanied by the message “Today is my last day at work. The studio will close after today.” In some photos we can see the boxes packed by the employees and ready for shipping and what appears to be a last pizza party in the office.

Just a few days ago, Phil Spencer, the boss of Microsoft Gaming, spoke about the recent closures within Bethesda , explaining that as unpleasant as certain drastic decisions are, they are necessary to run a sustainable business. This, however, has not assuaged the anger of some users who think these cuts are unjustified, particularly regarding Tango Gameworks, after Microsoft claimed that Hi-Fi Rush had been a great success in every way .
