GHOST OF TSUSHIMA, PS5 AND PC VERSIONS COMPARED: THE PC WINS BUT DOESN’T OUTPERFORM

GHOST OF TSUSHIMA PS5 AND PC VERSIONS COMPARED: THE PC WINS BUT DOESN'T OUTPERFORM

The launch of the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut has inevitably sparked a flood of comparisons with the pre-existing edition for PlayStation 5. The video comparisons elect a clear winner, but the truth is that Sony users do not have nothing to be sorry about.

The comparison videos that have appeared online don’t lie: the new PC version of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut – developed by Nixxes and fortunately arrived on the market without major technical problems – is far superior to its PlayStation 5 counterpart . If powered by a sufficiently powerful machine, the PC edition can exhibit very high resolutions, enviable image clarity, detailed shadows and high-impact effects such as volumetric fog, ambient occlusion and depth of field, all while achieving framerates that easily exceed the 60fps limit present on PS5 . Also present is support for technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3 and Intel XeSS, as well as Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9) and even triple 48:9 monitor formats.

On the other hand, it must be admitted that, despite all the graphic effects and cutting-edge technologies, on PC Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut does not become another game, so PlayStation 5 owners can still sleep soundly knowing they can enjoy a version highly respectable, which among other things manages to prevail over its new counterpart in terms of loading speed : as can be seen in the comparison made by El Analista de Bits, on PS5 it is possible to enter the game in just over a second , whereas on PC you have to wait almost six seconds. Thanks to the proprietary technology with which the PS5 is equipped and which Sony has advertised so much in the marketing phase.
