Gearbox co-founder calls unannounced Borderlands game “the greatest thing we’ve ever done”

The Gearbox founder appears to have teased an unannounced Borderlands game, and some fans think an announcement is just around the corner.

IGN interviewed Randy Pitchford about the upcoming Borderlands movie, which has received its first trailer featuring a cast including Jack Black, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Kevin Hart. When asked about his favorite Borderlands game, Pitchford gave a rather intriguing answer.

Well, we haven’t even announced anything yet. Obviously we’re working on something. And I know what the fuck… This is the greatest thing we’ve ever done. And I can’t wait, but it’s not time yet. It’s not time yet.

This isn’t the first time a potential new Borderlands game has been mentioned – last year the head of partner studio Gearbox also mentioned Borderlands 4.

Interestingly, the official Borderlands Twitter account recently began posting new videos reviewing events from existing Borderlands games.

These new videos should end on March 12th if the account remembers the events of all currently released Borderlands games, including spin-offs. And exactly a week later, on March 19, PAX East is taking place – Borderlands 3 was first presented there in 2019.

It’s not a fact that Borderlands 4 will be announced in a month, but it would be a significant date.
