The sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will conclude the story of Cloud and companions started by the Remake, but it may not represent the end of the Final Fantasy 7 universe.
Some interesting statements are coming from the authors behind the remakes from the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Ultimania published recently in Japan. For example, according to the report provided by Aika Kimochi on X, director Yoshinori Kitase hopes that the “world of Final Fantasy 7” will continue after Part 3 .
As we know, Part 3 will conclude the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy that began in 2020. Kitase hopes that the narrative universe of this “series within the series” will continue to expand with new projects, although he specified that at the moment the team’s priority is to conclude work on the game.
Kitase also added that he may not participate in future projects related to Final Fantasy 7 given his age (57 years) and that for this reason he wants to bring the trilogy to its conclusion with the “hope” that Cloud and companions have a happy ending , without leaving anything pending.
Kitase has hopes that the world of FF7 may continue on even after finishing the FF7 Remake Project trilogy, but they need to wrap up Part 3 first and foremost.

Will Part 3 arrive sooner than expected?
Kitase also spoke about the development approach and production times of the trilogy, suggesting that Part 3 of the Final Fantasy 7 remakes could arrive with shorter timing than expected .
In the meantime, Square Enix has published a new update for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth which has resolved the annoying bug that prevented the Platinum trophy from being obtained.
