Final Fantasy 16 producer hints at Xbox version of the game

Noisy Pixel discussed the upcoming major expansion The Rising Tide with Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida . Answering the question of how the developers feel about leaving the game and characters behind, Yoshida hinted at releasing the action-RPG on third-party platforms after PC.

Yoshi-P did not go into details, but apparently the producer is talking about releasing Final Fantasy XVI on Xbox consoles (and possibly Switch 2), although Square Enix itself has not announced such plans.

This is not the end in the sense that we have a PC version. After the PC version comes out, we’ll think about hopefully releasing the game on other platforms. However, this is not really about the plot, but rather about transferring to other platforms. So there is a feeling that while the project continues in one form or another, there is not that feeling of sadness.

Square Enix has recently begun working actively with Microsoft again. In particular, the online Final Fantasy XIV has finally visited the Xbox console . Octopath Traveler 2 is also expected to be released this year.

Final Fantasy XVI will be released in the summer of 2023 exclusively on PS5. The game’s circulation has exceeded 3 million copies. The Rising Tide expansion will be released on April 18th.
