FALLOUT 4: NEXT-GEN UPDATE BREAKS MODS AND BRINGS NO REAL IMPROVEMENTS, SAYS PC GAMER

It seems that the long-awaited Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update is not proving to be the success hoped for, at least on PC . The PC Gamer portal has in fact carried out a collection of problems based both on the direct experience of the editorial team and on player complaints that emerged after the publication of the update.

First of all, PC Gamer points out that the Fallout 4 Next-Gen patch , weighing 14.4GB , creates problems with mods and consequently there is no shortage of inconveniences for those who have save files with one or more mods enabled. Still others, particularly those outside of Creation Club , no longer work, including the popular Fallout 4 Script Extender .

If this aspect already has a highly negative impact on the experience offered by the Bethesda work on PC, it is also underlined that the update does not seem to bring any effective technical improvement to what has already been seen previously. Ultrawide support has also compressed the display of the interface which now appears more imprecise, as well as not bringing any concrete increase in framerate compared to the past. Finally, the weapon debris graphics setting continues to cause the game to crash when using RTX cards , a problem that Fallout 4 has been dragging on for a long time and not resolved with the Next-Gen update.

In any case, most of the problems encountered seem to specifically concern the PC edition of the game, whereas on consoles the situation is more stable and with more concrete visual improvements considering that the original PS4 and Xbox One editions were not at the exact same level of the PC version . However , even on the current generation Sony and Microsoft platforms there have been some inconveniences: the upgrade to PS5 does not currently work with the PS Plus version of Fallout 4 , while on the Xbox Series not in Quality due to a bug.
