ELDEN RING SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE WARNING FROM FROMSOFTWARE: THE ANTI-CHEAT ‘GOES HAYWIRE’ ON PC
New problems for Shadow of the Erdtree, and this time it’s not about the mouse : FromSoftware warns players of the Elden Ring expansion of a problem that has emerged in the anti-cheat system of the PC version.
With a post published on the Twitter/X pages, the social team of the development house directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki explains that “a problem has been identified in the PC version of Elden Ring. The ‘Inappropriate Activity Detected’ message which signals cheats could appear by mistake” .
The problem just reported by FromSoftware, presumably linked to a bug in the latest patch for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, thus pushes the anti-cheat system to improperly report possible cases of cheating by players. How to overcome this bug? FromSoftware itself explains that “to resolve this issue, verify the integrity of the game files before restarting it . “
In a move that is already fueling heated debate on social media, the Japanese developers are leaving it up to the players themselves to ‘solve the problem’, without offering further indications on the steps to take to verify the integrity of the game files on PC and, above all, without providing clarifications regarding possible emergency hotfixes or resolution interventions planned with the next Elden Ring patches.
DF also didn’t mince its words with FromSoftware in the tests of Shadow of the Erdtree , highlighting the by now ancestral problems encountered by the Japanese team in guaranteeing optimal performance since the launch of its titles and an acceptable level of optimization.
