Among the many new features FromSoftware has added to Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree are the new weapons that the Lightless can wield to make their way through the dark and mysterious environments of the expansion.
While many people think that the difficulty of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is excessive , those Lightless do not think the same as they have come across a particular new weapon that is apparently ‘ breaking ‘ the general balance of the DLC .
As you can see from the clip we’ve included below ( don’t play it if you want to avoid spoilers for Shadow of the Erdtree ), the new shields introduced by FromSoftware, which allow you to defend and attack at the same time , can essentially cancel out some of the most challenging fights in the expansion, which is generally designed to be a great challenge for players.
” The new shields are the most powerful weapons in the entire game , and the others don’t even come close ,” one user said in a dedicated post on reddit. ” I completely destroyed the DLC in NG+ . The powerful shields can be enchanted with any affinity/damage type, making them extremely versatile. And it’s really fun to slap every single boss! “
The fact that they are “over power”, in short, does not seem to displease players that much . However, it cannot be ruled out that the effectiveness of the shields will be scaled down via the next patches of the expansion. In the meantime, those who have finished Shadow of the Erdtree continue to complain about the last boss of the DLC.

New Thrusting shields are the strongest weapons in the entire game and it’s not even close. NG+ DLC was absolutely obliterated. Thrusting shields can be enchanted with any affinity/damage type that makes them extremely versatile. And it’s just so much fun to slap the grace out of every single boss!
