ELDEN RING SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE: FIRST PATCH AVAILABLE MAJOR NERF COMING
After celebrating Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree having sold over 5 million copies , the team at FromSoftware has continued to work to release the expansion’s first update, now available for download on PC and consoles.
One of the main changes in the patch is the nerf ( or rather , the fix ) of the Lightning Perfume Bottle , which in combination with the Rolling Sparks war ash created the unintentional effect of detonating a large number of explosions at the same time, resulting in excessive damage inflicted on the player ( it was possible to take down the final boss in about 13 seconds ). Below are the other balance changes:

- (PvP) Decreased the damage and damage animation of the “Swift Slash” ability’s slashing void effect;
- Increased the Intelligence scaling of the Carian Sorcery Sword and slightly reduced its base damage;
- Extended the attack range for the following weapons: Smithscript Dagger / Smithscript Cirque;
- Changed the positioning of the bosses in the second fight against the Golden Hippopotamus and Commander Gaius so that they are in the same position as the first fight.
Among the known issues , FromSoftware lists the following : For the PS5 version of the game, the unstable framerate may be improved by using the “Rebuild Database” option from the device’s Safe Mode. On PC, Ray Tracing may be enabled unintentionally and cause unstable performance. Some players may receive the “Inappropriate Activity Detected” message even without using cheats.
