Capcom reveals how big Monster Hunter Wilds maps will be compared to previous games
How much bigger will the maps in Monster Hunter Wilds be compared to previous games? The answer comes directly from Capcom who indicated what we could expect.
Monster Hunter Wilds, in the most recent presentation, showcased various new features. One of the most important is the fact that the game will be an open map, without a mission structure. We will therefore have on our side a series of areas connected to each other with many biomes, monsters and objects to collect. But what exactly can we expect in terms of breadth?
The information was shared by Capcom itself in a recent interview.
How big will Monster Hunter Wilds maps be?
According to what was revealed by a Capcom spokesperson , the maps would be “a little more than double those of previous games”. Monster Hunter players can therefore get an idea of the average size of the various areas that will make up Wilds.

Obviously this doesn’t tell us what the total size of the game will be, because everything will depend on the number of zones present in this new chapter. Furthermore, as always, we would like to remember that a larger map does not necessarily mean that Monster Hunter Wilds is of better quality.
The breadth of the maps is a tool to be used to propose new game mechanics, such as the presence of more local fauna, herds of monsters and a new interaction system setting the climate effects, with thunder and sand storms that will change the area.
However, the new features will also be accompanied by well-known elements that will return to action, such as cloaks, the ability to ride monsters and more .
