Capcom celebrated the sales of Resident Evil 2… only now

Given that the remake of Resident Evil 2 exceeded ten million copies sold during the pandemic, Capcom decided to celebrate the important milestone, albeit late.

Capcom celebrated the sales of Resident Evil 2 with a real celebration in its offices in Osaka, which however took place significantly later than when the remake surpassed the milestone of 10 million copies sold. How come?

The reason is very simple: when the game achieved the important result, we were still in the midst of the pandemic and its restrictive measures, which prevented the developers from organizing the traditional party (complete with cake!) within the headquarters.

According to official numbers, Resident Evil 2 is the best-selling episode ever for the series, with its 13.9 million copies: behind it we find Resident Evil 7 biohazard (13.3 million copies) and Resident Evil Village (9.8 million copies).

The treasure of remakes?

Some time ago we thought about how the remakes represent a real treasure for Capcom , which thanks to this strategy managed to significantly relaunch the Resident Evil franchise.

Speaking of remakes, the excellent remake of Resident Evil 4 is currently in ninth position with its seven million copies sold, but nothing stops it from growing to the point of even surpassing the results achieved so far by the second chapter.

In the meantime, anticipation is growing regarding the talked about remakes of Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which appeared in the price list of a well-known retailer some time ago: when will an official announcement be made?
