BATTLEFIELD NEXT LOSES MARCUS LEHTO: THE CO-CREATOR OF HALO LEAVES EA AND THE RIDGELINE TEAM

The Ridgeline team that is shaping Battlefield Next loses Marcus Lehto : from the pages of his LinkedIn profile, the co-creator of Halo communicates that he has left EA and, consequently, that he has abandoned all his roles in the team he is developing the next chapter of Battlefield.

Having joined the ranks of Electronic Arts in October 2021, the following year Master Chief’s father was entrusted with the leadership of the Ridgeline Games team with the task of ‘expanding the story, narrative and character development opportunities of the Battlefield series’, starting obviously from the next episode of the shooter saga after the criticism leveled at Battlefield 2042 for the absence of a main Campaign (or in any case of a ‘linear’ and narrative-oriented experience).

Marcus Lehto’s is the second ‘excellent farewell’ from Ridgeline Games in recent weeks: at the beginning of February, in fact, Chris Matthews decided to leave Ridgeline to join 343 Industries and take on the role of Studio Art Director to take care of the new era of Halo .

At the time of writing, Lehto preferred not to provide further clarifications on his next professional experience, limiting himself to announcing his separation from Electronic Arts and the team that is shaping the new chapter of Battlefield.
