Baldur’s Gate 3: head writer revealed his favorite line

The head writer of Baldur’s Gate 3 has revealed his favorite line from the entire game, among the thousands present.

Baldur ‘s Gate 3 head writer Adam Smith talked about his favorite lines from the game, including one with Minthara that he remembers particularly fondly. Pay attention , because we are about to give some small but substantial previews on Baldur’s Gate 3 and its plot. If you don’t want to have them, avoid reading further and go elsewhere.

Smith touched on the topic in an interview with GamesRadar+ at the Digital Dragons Conference in Krakow, where he revealed that his favorite lines are often hidden within larger scenes: “The Karlach scene after the Gortash’s death, just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes because I’m sentimental; the end of Astarion’s story, once Cazador is dead – they’re full of catharsis, which is really meaningful to me.”

The dialogue that is dearest to him, however, is another and concerns Minthara , a character not exactly loved by players.

Lots of deep dialogue

“We wanted to give her vulnerability, to give her real character. Someone who has been taught what she should be and how she should behave, who has been taught to be cruel and paranoid.” This double-track characterization is something Smith is very proud of, because “it can hit people emotionally, because they don’t expect it.”

Smith then quoted one of the lines that exemplify Minthara’s true personality, with which he came very close to breaking the fourth wall . In fact, the drow talks about the players who end up killing her instead of recruiting her: “She has a line in which she refers to this behavior, where she says ‘If I had never met you, if you had never given me a chance, I would be just another corpse of your crusade.'” Smith explained that with these words the game tells the player: “‘Hey, we know what you did, we know what you did last time,’ and I really liked that line.”

After these words, how can you not play another complete game of Baldur’s Gate 3 by recruiting Minthara? You can do it on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
